10 years “For Women in Science” in Bulgaria, 10 great years for Bulgarian science! Big thanks to L'Oréal for entrusting our team with the coordination of the programme from day one and to all the partners from Sofia University and UNESCO! It is an extreme honor for the whole M3 Communications Group, Inc. team to be part of the initiative and to organize award ceremonies every year in recognition of the huge talent of Bulgarian women in science!
This year was a little bit unusual as we had to hold the event online but thanks to all the unconditional support by media, science community and especially of Vice President Iliyana Yotova and Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova the event was glamorous as always!
Three beautiful and talented ladies were awarded with of the “For Women in Science” award in Bulgaria in 2020 – Iskra Koleva, Lyubov Marinkova and Radoslava Bekova! With their determination and strive for innovation, they are the living proof that women in science can and will change the world!
For the past 10 years, the “For Women in Science” programme has awarded 27 great Bulgarian women for their impressive scientific potential, career and love for research with a total prize fund of over 130,000 euros. Since its establishment in 1998 in partnership between L'Oréal and UNESCO until today“For Women in Science” continues to be the only global programme to fight for gender equality in science (women still represent only 29% of researchers worldwide according to UNESCO report). Over the past 22 years, “For Women in Science” has distinguished more than 3,100 female scientists in 117 countries.
