Renovated Shipka Monument Funded by BILLA and “We Love Bulgaria” Campaign

BILLA Bulgaria is the one to blame about the recently fully renovated bronze lion statue on Shipka monument. The restoration became possible thanks to the company’s corporate social initiative “We love Bulgaria”.

All began in 2016 with the first edition of the campaign with a large-scale concert that gathered Bulgaria’s top music stars. The amount of 66 thousand levа that was collected from donations was invested in the renovation. The cause was repeated the following years supporting different emblematic monuments from Bulgarian history such as Madara horseman and Panorama “The Epopee of Pleven -1877” in 2017 and 2018.

The official opening of the renovated lion statue will be on August 24^th, matching the celebration for the 142nd anniversary of the Shipka Epopee and 85 years of the construction of the monument.
