Unnoted Works of Noted Artists For the First Time in Sofia
January, 2017Paintings from the Golden Fund of the United Bulgarian Bank Collection were presented to the media with the organizational and advisory support of M3 Communications Group, Inc.
All canvases have been gathered from the walls of the Bank’s branches in the country and then renovated and framed by specialists. The exhibition also shows over 15 valuable antiques that have never been brought out before – typewriters, calculating machines, wooden clocks and many other items that tell stories about the last century of banking in Bulgaria.
The exhibition in Sofia is part of the United Bulgarian Bank’s ambition to present the most valuable pieces from its Collection in 13 Bulgarian towns throughout 2017 – the year that marks the Bank’s 25th anniversary. The journey started in 2016 from Plovdiv – European Capital of Culture 2019, when over 7,000 visitors went to see the exhibition in two weeks.
As Slava Ivanova, Director of the National Gallery, noted at the press conference, this exhibition is more than just an art heritage – it shows a detailed picture of the processes of the XXth century that marked and shaped the art in Bulgaria.
The exhibition UN/NOTED will be displayed at the National Gallery from January 13th to February 12th 2017.
