This is the story of the spectacular charity concert of BILLA Bulgaria “Stars Sing for Bulgaria”, organized by M3 Communications Group, Inc.
The glorious event gathered more than 8,000 people to watch and sing with some of the most favorite Bulgarian performers on the stage of Arena Armeets.
Signal, D2, Veselin Marinov, Toni Dimitrova, Poli Genova, LaTiDa and Bon-Bon, Neli Rangelova, Mariana Popova, Preslava Peycheva, Vessy Boneva and VS Dance united and “gave” their voice voluntary to help restore one of the most beloved Bulgarian symbols - the Monument of Liberty at Shipka mount.
The concert was part of the long-term national campaign “We Love Bulgaria” of BILLA Bulgaria in support of the 100 national tourist sites. The spectacle in support of the Monument at Shipka mount was opened by very emotional recitation of the poem "The volunteers of Shipka". Stefka Kyoseva - granddaughter of the builder of the monument Penyo Atanasov, took part in the event, sharing some interesting facts about the monument.
Poli Genova was the culmination of the concert. She presented for the first time at the biggest Bulgarian stage her popular hit song “If Love was a Crime” which reached fourth place in the prestigious Eurovision Song Contest. All the singers performed the greatest song “You are Beautiful, My Forest”. The performance moved the audience to tears and put spectacular end to the charity concert.
Hosts of the charity concert “Stars Sing for Bulgaria” were the actor Alexander Kadiev and the TV journalist Desislava Stoyanova.
All money raised from ticket sales of the “Stars Sing for Bulgaria” concert will be donated for the restoration of the Monument of Liberty at Shipka mount. BILLA will donate an additional amount of money to support the initiative.
The event and campaign are supported by the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Ministry of Youth and Sports and Sofia Municipality.
